David Bailey, senior vice president for American Patriot Bank, will lead the Small Business Division for the 2010 United Way Campaign, Campaign Chair Brenda Parrish-Dickmann has announced.
This is Bailey's eighth year leading United Way campaigns. He has chaired both the Major Gifts Division and Small Business Division and was general chairman of the 50th United Way Campaign in 2008, helping to raise a total of more than $1 million for human service agencies in Greene County.
Parrish-Dickmann said, "We are thrilled to have David as chair of the Small Business Division. He has been a great asset to United Way for several years and has done a fantastic job as general chairman of the campaign and as our board president last year.
"He is committed, energetic, and genuinely cares for our community. I feel confident that he will lead the Small Business Division to success."
Bailey responded, "I have been involved with United Way for 15 years and consider it an honor to chair the United Way Small Business Division this year.
"Through the 24 agencies supported by United Way, so many lives are directly or indirectly touched. I encourage all businesses and individuals to participate in giving to this worthy cause."
Bailey will work with volunteers to reach out to the Greene County community and encourage United Way giving.
Bailey serves on the board of directors for United Way of Greene County, on the Advisory Council for the Greeneville/Greene County Center for Technology, on the Gifts for Kids Board of Directors, and is a member of the Greene County Human Resource Association.
He and his wife, Sheila, and son, Dustin, are members of Central Baptist Church.
