Two people were slightly injured about 6:15 p.m. Tuesday in a three-vehicle collision on the East Andrew Johnson Highway.

A report filed by GPD Officer Jackie Tweed said the collision took place about 500 feet east of North Main Street when an eastbound 1989 Ford Ranger pickup truck driven by Marvin Spilovoy, 62, of the Old Asheville Highway slowed to make a left turn.

When Spilovoy stopped, a following 2006 Nissan Xterra sport utility vehicle driven by Jessica Ann Bowers, 26, of Walking Lane, Chuckey, slowed, the report said.

At that point, a 2001 Ford F-150 pickup truck operated by Troy Cutshall, 60, of Park Avenue, struck the rear of the Xterra, then struck the rear of the Ford Ranger.

The accident report listed drivers Cutshall and Spilovoy as slightly injured but indicated that neither required transportation to a hospital. Bowers was not injured, according to police.
